I posted this link in another topic, but I felt it could hold it's own here ;)

I know when I had kids I started looking into healthier options for my family.  Not only with chemicals used for cleaning house, allergens and obvious dangers, but also with the chemicals we use on our bodies day in and day out.  I love coming across lotions and such that are made with natural oils!  of course, not all of nature is “human friendly”, but here is a little blurb I found on AOL the other day - how to make your own beauty products with natural ingredients … link… there are “recipes” for under eye creams, moisturizers and exfoliants!  check it out!!

Thanks for sharing with us this great find of yours Diane. I would definitely try these especially the Green Tea Toner and the Tropical Eye Cream.

While searching for honey recipes last week, I also came across this wonderful site offering not just food recipes but also beauty recipes. You might also want to have look at the site - National Honey Board.

Thanks ladies! That's one excellent link, diane. I'm all for cheap solutions as well, even better!

I love honey in products Nazreen but hate the taste of it. Some of those sound good enough to eat though! :)

The only thing you need to be careful of if you make those kind of home beauty recipes is their shelf life. Some you can keep happily in the fridge for a month but others only for a few days or can't be refrigerated. It's better to make a small batch you'll use than be tempted to make a huge batch you might end up having to toss out because it goes off. I used to have a great brown sugar body scrub one somewhere.. must dig it out. :)

Yes I agree, Kay. It's better to make a small portions and use it immediately. There is a tv programme which focus on home-made beauty products. The lady made bath oil which can be kept for 6 months without refrigeration. It is also a good idea to put it in small bottles and give them to your friends as a gift. Smile
