There are various clubs and groups formed by both men and women synonmous to 'the hot moms club'.

These clubs motivate the mothers to look good , feel good and be good.

I personally feel its very important for a mother to do all that she can to raise her child in the best possible manner. These clubs make us more aware and they also make the whole procedure fun and exciting.

When I get to become a mother I will make it a point that I will be enlisted in that group, the hot momma club. :D  Mothers of the new age should be like these.  They are excellent in all things that they see themselves fit to.  And they can achieve almost anything they set their mind to.

You know, the instance of these clubs makes good for everyone! It makes good for the mom because of the increased self esteem that comes from being a “hot mom” and of course, it benefits Dad… therefore you could speculate that a hot mom=a happy family!

Self esteem is extremely important.

A mother needs to be shown that she is respected , loved and cared for.

She should be told in words and actions that the family is proud of her and they love her!

I agree that being a mother indeed is one of the jobs that one needs to have an adequare self esteem in! How else should workouts change during pg? Is there any exercise I should be avoiding?

The worst thing would be if the lady of the house ignores herself. This usually happens and when the lady reaches a certain age she regrets a lot. But things are improving now, women are more aware of their wellbeing. There is nothing wrong in remaining fit even when you are in your forties. I had put on loads and loads of weight during and after my child births, but now I have reduced by 70 pounds. Now I am my husbands dream date. I love to be referred as a young mum.

Well I think the reason some moms aren't in the hot category is because they're simply overwhelmed with caring for the child, getting over the trauma of childbirth and all that childcare entails. I agree the lady of the house shouldn't ignore herself as sanju puts it, but not just to be “hot”. She needs to look after herself physically and emotionally first - hot comes later if you're lucky. Guys really annoy me when I hear them complain about how their wife has let herself go after having a child and yet don't lift a finger to help her free up some time for herself or say anything remotely nice or encouraging to her that might motivate her a little. “Why are you still fat when you've had the baby?” isn't exactly inspirational.

I'm sorry but I think expecting a new mom to be hot is really unfair and places unnecessary strain on her. The reality is most are struggling to lose the post pregnancy weight, hardly getting any sleep and trying to run a home and family plus maybe work too. They can see fine by looking in a mirror they're not at their most gorgeous. Other people pointing it out doesn't help. Maybe a “be hot in a year's time mom's club” would be more sensible and achieveable. By all means, make the most of yourself but do it on your own terms and at your own pace.

I think the pressure on new mums now to lose weight and get back to your pre baby shape is ridiculous.  I know it's the pressure you put on yourself, but I still think that the media/celebrities have got a lot to do with it as well.  It's hard when you see some one in the spot light looking stick thin within a few weeks of giving birth, and you're still pounds over weight.  I'm not daft enough to believe that all celebs must be blessed with amazing genes and just 'snap' back into shape.  There seemsto be all sorts of rumours about tummy tucks etc… giving a helping hand (I'm not against surgery)  but I guess I found it hard to not make comparisons somewhere in the back of my mind.

Yes I agree, loolarbelle. Celebs look gorgeous after giving birth because they have the money to undergo all kinds of surgery to remove the baby fats. It's hard to believe that they can lose that much weight in such a short period of time! I have seen friends who put on weight after giving birth which they find hard to lose. But of course there are some who has 4 kids and still looking great as if they have never given birth!!

My hubby and I are planning to have a baby next year. Even before having one, I have this worry feeling that I will gain a lot of weight and unable to lose them after the baby's born. But then again, I must not keep worrying and not do anything about it. I've read from an article that breastfeeding is good for mothers because your body burns an extra 500 calories a day trying to make milk for your baby.

Another study of mothers at one month postpartum found that mothers who breastfed had slimmer hips and weighed less than women whose babies received only formula.

We all could look that good if we had nannies to watch our newborns and personal trainers to kick us in the butts!

Each person carries baby weight differently.  I have friends with many children who look great, and I have a friend whose only been pregnant twice, but the pregnancies distorted her body so that she always looks pregnant now.  I think the key is to expect changes, but don't dread them or obsess over them.  Workout if you can, watch your calorie intake, but most importantly, don't let baby weight hurt the time you have with your newborn!  Those days are over far too quickly and you have the rest of your life to work on losing the weight … in my opinion Wink
