Cleansing is needed any time a diaper is changed because stool and urine left on the skin will cause skin irritation.

1.The simplest method is to wash with a mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly. Keep a washcloth and towel at the side of the crib for this purpose.

2. Use cotton balls saturated in baby oil or baby lotion, this method does not require rinsing because baby oil does not irritate the skin.

3. Use disposable wipes that contain oil or lotion for cleansing. Again, rinsing is not needed because there is no irritating substance present, although some babies may be sensitive to components of cleaning solution..

It is funny sometimes it feels how you feel disgusted watching yourself cleaning someone elses waste but when it comes to your baby it is like as easy as eating peanuts.  Maybe it is just the way it is.  Once it is yours, you consider is as your own self and not even feeling a bit disgusted.  Maybe it is a mother-feeling that you just can't put words into its entirety.

In addition, nappies should always be changed after every bowel movement or whenever they are wet. This reduces the chance of nappy rash which is often caused by irritation from stool or urine. Always wash nappies in water mixed with good antiseptic liquid. For this you need to add 1 tablespoon of antiseptic liquid to 500ml of water. Washing nappies in this kills bacteria which may have contaminated them.
