Do you have any hobbies or activities you enjoy and use as a stressbuster or just to get a break?

I like to read and rarely find the time to do so anymore but when I do, it does help me relax.

My stressbuster is cooking. It's fun as I get to experiment different types of recipes. When I serve my food to family or guests, it gives me great satisfaction to see them eating happily with smiles on their faces. Why are they happy? That's because I added my special ingredient which is 'LOVE'. Smile

a stressbuster for me is cleaning. I love to take my agression out on a mess that has just piled up over time - re organizing the file cabinet, re stocking the pantry, scrubbing down the shelves in the cabinets.  It's kind of nice to take negative energy and use it productively.

I've just registered for aerobic dance coupled with some yoga in one of our community centers here in Singapore. I hope that this will help me keep fit and at the same time, drive away the stress that's accumulated during the day. Hope that practising the yoga basics will also help with my asthma. I'm really looking forward to this when it starts on the first week of December.

oh!  that sounds like fun!!  let us know how it works, Nazreen.

I used to take a yoga/pilates class at my gym, but there were not enough interested members to keep a morning class so they ended up cancelling it.  I was pretty bummed, I really enjoyed it.

Oh it was exhausting but enjoyable, Diane! Within 20 minutes, I was soaked in sweat! The aerobic was a fast one and the instructor who is 50 years old was filled with so much energy! She kept going and going! By 30 minutes, half of the class gave up. The ladies rested and some were lying flat on the floor! I did not give up. I went on. After 40 minutes of fast aerobic workout, we did yoga for the remaining time. The breathing exercise was good for my asthma. I'm glad I signed up for it. I'm looking forward to the next class which is tomorrow. Laughing

That sounds like a great class but it would kill me LOL. I attended yoga in the past too and really enjoyed it but when I tried step aerobics, I was rubbish at it. I really do need to do something physical though, all this sitting at a computer for hours is really putting the pounds on me.

I was eyeing the Wii Fit, anyone tried it or heard anyone say they had?

I have a friend that loves ALL the Wii activities!  she says the bowling actually makes her break a sweat ;)  it gets her up off the couch and playing with the kids instead of watching them.

I have heard good things about the Wii Fit program on the news … it looks kinda fun!

sounds like a great class, Nazreen! I'm jealous, the only work out I have gotten lately is a brisk walk around the mall while grumbling about shopping - lol.  I have had more work keeping me strapped to my chair and my body is NOT agreeing with it.
