Hi…..

I just found this site in the middle of the night last night while I was up with too much on my mind.  My husband & I just decided last night night that we wanted to have a baby.  We've been together about 7 1/2 years, and we've been married nearly 4.  We've had periods of wanting a baby mixed with periods of being content to be childless.  I can't really describe how it felt last night to realize that we both felt the same about having a baby and how right it felt.  I feel like I've been living in a dream for the past 24 hours.  :)  It will be the first child for each of us.

We're both overweight so our first plan of attack is to eat more healthy, increase our exercise time, and lose weight!  I know that I should see my doctor as soon as possible to get her input.  I would imagine that my body won't be “ready” to get pregnant until next year.  Yes, sadly, I have that much weight to lose.  I just don't feel like my age plus my weight is a good combination for pregnancy.  High blood pressure & diabetes run in my family, and my own blood pressure is sometimes borderline.  I want to be as healthy as I can before I try to get pregnant.

Does anybody have any words of wisdom to send my way as I start on this exciting journey?  Any good books to read?  etc.  Is anybody else here in a similar boat as me…..just considering pregnancy but not pregnant yet?

I look forward to talking with you all. :)
