Having been through this myself, it is nice to be reminded that you are not alone in your situation.  When you are blending a “his and hers” family, it can prove to be especially difficult because while you are trying to maintain consistency with your own child, you still have to keep in mind that your step child also needs to adjust to a new life and way of living as well.  I thought this article was pretty insightful and helpful all parties - the newly married spouse, the step parent, and the other biological parent.

If your divorce has passed and now your considering remarrying, be prepared for yet another challenge. This is not meant to discourage you, but rather to inform you of a potentially difficult path that lies ahead. Knowing what some of the obstacles are may help you to have a more successful journey.
