That's a great idea, BlueT! I had to laugh at the wisdom of don't buy the musical instruments, rent them.

I begged and begged for a guitar when I was about ten and SWORE I'd learn it. My parents relented and bought me one.  However no one told me how painful it is on your fingers before they get calloused! I'm showing my age here because there wasn't the option of plastic strings back then - mine were steel. Needless to say it was put under the bed one day and quietly forgotten about.

Good job they ignored my pleas for a double bass.
