Is your child sleep-disturbed!

When in the morning your child looks haggard, it is because he certainly did not get good sleep. If this continues for several nights on end, the reason must be found out, and in the case of any suspected infection, a doctor must be consulted.
A newborn baby sleeps for about 15 to 20 hours, but as he grows up, the sleep duration is reduced automatically. It then becomes difficult for parents to know if the child has had the required amount of sleep or not. This makes the parents anxious and they force the child to sleep. Of course, this is not a healthy attitude for the parents.

Parents must also try to learn the meaning of the subtle indications that children throw. If in sleep they frequently open their mouth, they are surely sending a signal for a feed. If the child’s sleeping place is stuffed with too many things, they will distract his concentration.  If he has to play with too many toys all day, they will appear in his dream! He may then wake up with a sudden startle. Hence, in the selection of toys a moderate approach [far from pampering] should be adopted.

Another thing is if the child often cries in his sleep, as far as possible, sleep with him in his room. With the knowledge and the trust that you are beside him, he will sleep well, and you will be spared the tension of coping with your child’s sleeplessness.

When a couple works, it is the woman who, without even knowing it, gets short end of the stick. She is the one who has to make the sacrifices and work harder at home so that her slipshod housekeeping is not held against her and in the office where she has to prove that she is the better than others to keep her job. It is very difficult to cope with both. Very rare moms, I have seen, manage smoothly. So, you’ve taken a right decision in this regard.

Wow, that was a good advice. I have an one year old baby boy and he has the problem of crying while he sleeps, I was not sure what to do. well now, I know how to deal with it. My mum told me that if a child wakes up with a sudden startle, put something(ex: a napkin or his pillow) on his chest to avoid him being shocked while sleeping, I've tried it and it works.
