It is very important to take care of the fact that never breastfeed your baby while you are lying down. As there is possibility of milk droppings trickling into the ears of the baby. This is practiced my feeding mothers a lot, when they are tired and baby needs feed or when they feel that baby will doze off this way, but it can be really dangerous. The baby can develop ear infection or running ear for the rest of the life.

While feeding, hold the baby close to you by supporting the baby’s head with your elbows and his/her buttocks with your palm. If the baby sleeps constantly for 2-4 hours after a feed, it is understood that the baby has had his/her fill. Never follow a clockwise timetable for feeding. Early morning feeds are more nutritious due to the concentration of nutrients.
