The Message of High School Musical the Movie.

High School Musical the movie is a great movie not only for teenagers, but also for everyone.

It is generally a cultural critique of the way people treat life.

We all learn to adapt at an early age. We get our first lessons on adaptation from our parents.

Like Troy, our parents mold us to fit the family.

We may tell ourselves that we have our own identities, but the fact is we all have characteristics we developed from childhood.

These characteristics are often developed through the efforts of our parents.

We may, sooner or later, try to break out but we still need to keep a part of our childhood in order for us to know who we truly are.

We also face our own ?karaoke parties? these are the turning points of our lives.

It is said in psychology that we have different windows to our identities: one shows the part that we and everyone around us knows, another shows the part that only we know, one that everyone knows but we do not know about, and a part that no one knows about.

It is during these turning points that we uncover a little about the window that no one sees. We discover our hidden talents, our budding feelings and other things about us that we may find surprising, even shocking.

Contrary to popular fiction, we do not have only one turning point in our lives.

Although in High School Musical the movie the ?breaking free? of the characters may seem like the major climax of the story, the plot is full of little turning points that eventually determine the ending.

This is true in all our lives.

Although we may see some huge event as the point where everything changes for us, we know that one event alone did not make us the persons we are today.

Think about it, from your childhood until now, you have tiny crossroads that you have come upon.

Without these crossroads, would you be who you are today?

These tiny crossroads also determine the way we deal we the major issues in our lives. In a sense, we get to our major crossroads by going through a series of small ones first.

There is also the issue of stereotyping. We may think of other people as belonging to a specific category within our society. We may even expect them to behave only in certain ways.

We may think that they behave only in the manner that we have seen and that they have no other behavior other than what we see.

High school musical shows that though we may classify a group according to one trait, we not only have one characteristic but many.

This means that jocks can, in fact, be geniuses; artists can be party dudes; that nerds need not be confined to books? etc.

Isn?t this also true in life?

High School Musical the movie also shows us the importance of companionship and the futility of conflict.

We all know that we are all parts of the same world. We may all accept that each of us plays an important part in that world and that no man can stand alone.

The movie shows us that the conflicts with each other are futile, as we all need to work together for the success of life?s play.

And, finally, the most important message of all from High School Musical the movie can be summed up in two words: Be True.
