What you need to know about the High School Musical DVD

The movie ?High School Musical? premiered on Disney Channel last January 20th.

While many did not catch the movie, the booming success of its soundtrack has drawn increased attention to its upcoming DVD release.

The soundtrack, which was released on January 10, 2006, reached the top of the billboard charts twice, and sold more than 1.68 million copies since.

While most TV movies suffer the fate of being less-than palpable hits, the success of High School Musical is nothing short of a phenomenon.

An Estimate of about 7.7 million viewers were able to watch High School Musical?s TV premiere, and the phenomenal support for the movie has apparently caused Disney to rush its DVD release.

There is also a highly anticipated 2007 movie sequel.

The High School Musical DVD will, of course, be packed with extras.

Like other DVD releases, the High School Musical DVD is expected to contain interactive features.

The most promoted part of the DVD is the ?learn the dance steps? feature.

This makes use of the technology of DVD to further enhance the experience of the viewers during the dance sequences.

The technology allows the viewers to examine the dance steps from different angles to make learning them easier.

This would also allow the viewers to experience the amount of hard work that the cast had to go through in order to perfect the sequences in the musical.

The High School Musical DVD will also contain a behind-the-scenes-feature that shows what went on during the production of the musical.

This feature will contain cast biographies, some interviews and other parts of your common behind-the-scenes-feature.

There are, however, some goofs that people have observed in the movie.

With the DVD?s release, you may want to hit the pause button once in a while and try to find some of these goofs:

*When Gabriella encounters Troy in the high school cafeteria and walks away, she places her tray on the table. In the following shot, the lunch tray is gone.

*In the New Year?s Eve party, Gabriella goes with no coat, only with purse and book, but she leaves wearing her coat, and has no book.

*When Troy is hurrying to the auditions, he starts off running with black tennis shoes, when he goes outside; his shoes change to white, and then revert back to black when he arrives.

*In the final number, there are 2 team members wearing the number 8 on their jerseys.

*The background banner says ?BEAT THEE VIKINGS? instead of ?BEAT THE VIKINGS.?

These are just some of the things you might want to watch out for in the DVD. You might have even more fun looking for these goofs than doing the activities featured as bonuses.

To catch these goofs, though, you will need a quick eye and a finger on the remote control.
